The Gansevoort Hotel has a aquatic theme within it starting in the
lobby's shark tank "the shark tank has twenty-seven types of exotic
sharks, stingrays and fish will be introduced into the East Coast's
longest seamless aquarium located in the lobby of the new Gansevoort
South Hotel. The 17,000 gallon, 53-foot-long tank has taken almost a
full year to build, and serves as an intriguing lobby centerpiece and an
attractive home for one of Miami's most striking displays of underwater
life."
The atlantic ocean is very present at the rooftop pool/lounge
continuing the aquatic theme. "The Rooftop, located 18 stories above
the beach, is one of South Beach's hottest playgrounds. Escape to a
26,000-square-foot adults only (21 and over) enclave where everyday life
melts away and is replaced by utterly spectacular Atlantic Ocean
scenery."
As the Mtncolors artist team planned a mural for the rooftop pool/lounge it seemed appropriate to paint a aquatic theme mural. The mural will depict sharks swimming around in the deep blue atlantic with some small colorful reef fish on the bottom of the mural. The Gansevoort has sharks in the lobby and views of the atlantic from the rooftop and now it will have both in the ocean mural the mtncolors team painted.
