Palm Bay police offer $5K reward for serial graffiti vandal

Palm Bay police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of a serial graffiti vandal that has done thousands of dollars’ worth of damage in several Brevard cities.

For nearly a year, spray paintings and taunting messages directed at police have been scrawled on storefronts, tractor-trailers, residential fences and construction equipment from Palm Bay to West Melbourne.
“It’s everywhere. You can even see it along Interstate 95,” said Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for the Palm Bay Police Department.
Police say the damage to private property has cost more than $10,000.
Some of the spray-painted tags read, “Blast1” or “Kash,” something police believe could be the tagger’s handle.
So far, dozens of the paintings have popped up across south Brevard, frustrating residents and business owners alike.
The vandalism has also turned up in West Melbourne at the new Hammock Landings shopping center on Palm Bay Road, officials said.
It’s not known if the graffiti is gang-related.
Police said that much of the graffiti is done from the late-afternoon hours to 3 a.m.
